I enjoy video games especially when I play with my teenage kids. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a new game that is currently in the production stages. The game is based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s books and movies about life in Middle Earth. The most famous of the characters is Frodo Baggins however, there are more story lines that were hinted at but never explored. One of those stories involves a small group of heroes fighting their own war in the North. This is a second front against Sauron (Fleming, 2011) and is the story that will be featured in Lord of the Rings: The War in the North video game.

This new game will feature three characters: a human ranger, an elf and a dwarf following the lines of the Lord of the Rings movies. Each character is not only playable, but upgradable, and each character begins with their own advantages and disadvantages (Fleming, 2011). The game will be based on the North Region of Middle Earth where new locations will be explored. The game will feature single player and co-op and will be playable on your PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and online. I too am one of the many that enjoy video games immensely and am also looking forward to the new Lord of the Rings game. Lord of the Rings has become quite the popular entity since 2000. The book obviously started it all, but I wouldn't say it achieved extreme popularity until the movies came out, which then led to all of the video games. I have actually played every single LotR game that has been released, they are all quite fun if you love the LotR series.
